Sleep Positions: the eye mask

About the eye mask
Many people report sleeping with either one or both arms draped
over the facial area. There have been numerous suggestions
and theories put forward to explain this, including anxiety,
feelings of shame, lack of self esteem and fear of moths.
However, a more thorough investigation by Swedish psychologists
found that in order to correctly study sleeping people, most
researchers placed their subjects in well lit rooms. By switching
off the lights, the Swedish experts think that not one of
the people they studied adopted this position.
They cannot be certain however as they could not see what
was happening.
